This is the easiest and quickest homemade jam on the planet! All you need are two ingredients to add to these fresh berries, and something you, and your family enjoy eating with jam… delicious fruit topping, in a snap.
Serve for breakfast on biscuits, or toast. After supper on plain cake, topped with whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream on the side.
Some of you may want some after the kids are in bed. Be careful, it makes me feel jittery if I have it too late at night. 😉
My Best Homemade Jam
pick your own, or choose (from the store) your favorite fresh berries.
Wash, and crush. (I use a hand-held potato masher)
Measure 1 cup of berries, add 1 cup of sugar. (use 1 c. of sugar for every cup of berries)
add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
mix, and pour in skillet or sauce pan, and heat to a rolling boil.
boil 3 minutes, while stirring.
let cool, then put in fridge until served.
IF there is any left, I keep mine up to a week, in the fridge. The only time I have left- overs is when mulberries are in season, and I can usually can them.
